Good things come to those who wait. And when the band you’re waiting on has been around for over two decades, it’s easy to forgive Green Day for a paltry two months.
Originally scheduled to play Toronto in late-January, the group returned from hiatus and made a triumphant return to form with their show at the Air Canada Centre last week. Opting to play material from their new trilogy of albums meant sacrificing staples like Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and Wake Me Up When September Ends, but fans young and old had little to complain about on a night that featured plenty of hits, a healthy dose of nostalgia, and three guys that while starting to look their age also looked genuinely thrilled to be onstage together again.
